Broadly put, a “Nocturne” is any piece that evokes the night. In this euphonium solo, what begins as a restful slumber soon gives way to eclectic dreams, wistful songs, and stories vividly imagined. In eight hours of sleep, we might experience every feeling the world has to offer.
