Headshot of Jonathan Miller holding a tubaJonathan Miller is a tuba player from St. Petersburg, Florida, currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree in Tuba Performance at the Eastman School of Music, where he studies with Justin Benavidez. Prior to attending Eastman, he graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy, where he studied with Thomas Riccobono. An avid arranger, Jonathan has been commissioned to create works for a variety of instrumentation. He has also had the honor of leading the Eastman Tuba and Euphonium Ensemble in performances of his own arrangements. An accomplished soloist, Jonathan has been recognized by organizations including the NAACP and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. While at Eastman, he was named a YoungArts winner with Distinction and won the 2026 North East Regional Tuba Euphonium Conference (NERTEC) Student Solo Competition. Jonathan’s orchestral experience includes participation in the 2026 Monteux School and Music Festival Orchestra and selection to The Syracuse Orchestra’s substitute musician list. He is also a participant in the S.E. Shires Rising Artists Program. His previous teachers include Gabriel Rice and Harold Van Schaik.

Ethan Pound is a trombonist and sackbutist from Baltimore, Maryland currently serving as a Fellow of The Orchestra Now at Bard College. He is a recent graduate of the Eastman School of Music, where he earned both a Master of Music and Performer’s Certificate. He previously served as Director of Sackbuts for the Schola Cantorum at Christ Church in Rochester, New York.

In addition to The Orchestra Now, Pound has performed with the Syracuse Orchestra, the Creare Symphonia, and Colorado College Festival Orchestra. He has been featured as a soloist with several ensembles, including the Mostly Modern Orchestra and the Eastman Jazz Lab Band. As a graduate student at Eastman, Ethan taught trombone and euphonium lessons at the Eastman Community Music School, served as Department Assistant to the renowned Eastman Trombone Choir, and was the Teaching Assistant for Eastman’s Trombone Methods course. He has previously worked as a brass instructor for the Northern Ohio Youth Orchestras, the Right Direction Project, and the Peabody Innovation and Music Academy.

When not playing the trombone or any of its ancestors, Ethan can be found transcribing Mongolian vocal music, rooting on his hometown Orioles and Ravens, and frequenting contemporary art museums. He earned his Bachelor of Music at Oberlin Conservatory in Ohio, and credits his many past trombone teachers with his musical development, including Larry Zalkind, John Gruber, and Monica Althouse.

Mark Sayler is a tuba and euphonium performer, composer, and teacher from Fairhope, AL. He is currently pursuing his masters in tuba performance at Louisiana State University under the tutelage of Dr. Charlie Goodman and has a bachelor’s degree in tuba performance from the University of South Alabama where he studied under Dr. Clayton Maddox and Dr. William Petersen. Formerly an Eastman Rising Artist, he won the 2024 IET Artist Solo competition, the 2026 SERTEC Artist Tuba Solo competition, and the University of South Alabama concerto competition. Mark is an ASCAP composer and a teacher with the Blue Knights drum and bugle corps based in Denver, CO and has performed on tuba and euphonium with the Northwest Florida Symphony orchestra. In his seldom spare time, he enjoys playing bass and cello for various occasions and finding new mediums to feature the tuba.

An award-winning soloist and ensemble musician, he has appeared as a guest artist across the United States, and earned top honors at national and international competitions. 


Logan’s accolades include earning the Silver Medal at the 2024 Falcone Tuba Artist Competition, first place in the Tuba Artist Division at the Northeast Regional Tuba Euphonium Conference, and winning the Eastman School of Music Concerto Competition, where he performed the Arild Plau Tuba Concerto with the Eastman Symphony Orchestra in 2025. He is also the recipient of the 2023 Celentano Award for Excellence in Chamber Music, the 2021 Jim Self Award, and prestigious Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award, culminating in a performance on NPR's "From the Top" show #371 in La Jolla, California.  


Logan has performed as a guest artist on recitals at the University of Rhode Island, North Carolina School of the Arts, University of South Dakota, University of Houston at Victoria  and the National Music Museum in Vermillion, South Dakota. His festival attendance includes the Curtis Summerfest in Philadelphia (2019), National Music Festival in Chestertown, Maryland (2023), Round Top Music Festival in Round Top, Texas (2023, 2024), the Falcone Festival (2024), as well as the Victoria Bach Festival, where he appeared as an emerging artist for the duration of the festival (2025).


Logan earned his Bachelor’s degree in Tuba Performance with High Distinction and a Performer’s Certificate from the Eastman School of Music in 2023, followed by a Master’s degree in Tuba Performance in 2025. His principal instructors include Roger Bobo, Don Harry, Chris Olka, Craig Knox, Todd Cranson, and Chuck Dibley.
